Most state and federal prisons in the nation suspended all visitation in March, 2020. As of August, 2021, only three states still have all visitation suspended, while 7 states have opted to allow visits from legal teams. The remaining 40 states and federal facilities have resumed normal visitation with restrictions, such as negative COVID tests.
