We should applaud law enforcement for the astronomical job they do in the face of an increasingly hostile environment. In the midst of what may appear to be anti-police movements, their job has become increasingly dangerous. However, the objective of most of these movements have been misconstrued by conservatives and certain media groups. Most protesters and activist groups do not actually hate the police. Most just disagree and are concerned with their tactics, which have been designed by the current system.
No one should deny or be naïve enough to believe that the criminal just system is fair to poor whites and people of color. Simply look at the rate of incarceration for marginalized groups vs the much higher population of whites. Despite the vast difference in population numbers, are we to believe they actually commit around the same number of crimes? The disparity in sentencing is also astonishing. Poor whites and minorities are punished as a whole much more harshly than white people in general.
