Monongah Mayor JohnBoy Palmer has confirmed that Nathan Lanham is no longer employed by the town, following public uproar over an incident in which Lanham allegedly pointed a gun at local resident Beth Delloma.

According to court records, Delloma was arrested and charged with a felony for allegedly fleeing in a vehicle recklessly. She remained in jail from Thursday until Monday, when a judge ultimately dismissed the charge.

In a criminal complaint, Lanham expressed no remorse as he laid out his version of events, claiming the encounter began when he pulled Delloma over and asked for her vehicle registration, driver’s license, and proof of insurance.

Delloma reportedly told Lanham that her documents were at her home. Lanham stated he informed her that her vehicle would be towed and that she could not leave. That’s when the situation escalated — as shown in widely circulated footage — ending with Lanham body-slamming Delloma to the ground and handcuffing her as she screamed for help.

Delloma later said she was unsure whether Lanham was a real police officer, and when she asked to see his badge, the encounter quickly spiraled out of control.

With the incident caught on camera, horrified locals have rallied behind Delloma, calling for accountability. Lanham had been Monongah’s chief of police prior to his departure.
